Diana Covalciuc is the Founder and Executive Director of the Tony Hawks Center. She is a paediatrician specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities; she strongly believes that with effective cooperation between governmental institutions and non-governmental intuitions, children with special needs can be successfully integrated into society. Mrs. Covalciuc is passionate about her work and finds relaxation with her family and enjoys gardening and reading.
Grigore Covalciuc – administrator and fundraiser. He is one of the founders of Tony Hawks Center. Physician-pediatrician specialized in pediatric artrology Mr. Grigore has a big experience in the medical field, he is a member of various committees (certification of pediatricians and neonatologists from Moldova, expert of the National Council for Evaluation and Accreditation in Health and others), doctor in medical sciences, professor of the State University of Medicine N. Testimiţianu. He is passionate about music and sports.
Ana Carabet – chief accountant, she is part of the Tony Hawks Center team from 2012. Ms. Ana has a large experience in accounting, she is an invaluable specialist. Also she has experience in social area, she worked previously in a orphanage. Her free time she spends with her family.
Veronica Carp, assistant physiotherapist – part of Tony Hawks Center team since 2001. Veronica is an experienced professional, working for many years with children with mobility disorders. Her deep knowledge of psychomotor development of young children helped her to occupy a prominent place in early intervention for children with special needs. She is passionate about travel, music and likes to do needlework.
Oxana Petrusca is a physiotherapist – part of the Tony Hawks team since 2008. She graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Moldova and mastered in kinesiology. She is a successful athlete and athletic enthusiast. She knows the practice of movement and helps children with disabilities to obtain freedom of movement. Oxana is a specialist, category 1 physiotherapist.
Natalia Solovei – physiotherapist and part of the Tony Hawks team since 2010. She graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Moldova. Natalia is very capable of choosing an optimal treatment plan. She knows how to motivate and inspire children and keeping parents optimistic are her specific qualities. She is passionate about dance and fitness.
Silvia Gutanu, – physiotherapist and part of the Tony Hawks team since 2009. She graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Moldova with a masters in kinesiology. Silvia practiced gymnastics with remarkable results. Psychomotor sessions guided by Silvia motivate children with disabilities with her enthusiasm and creativity.
Alla Marinova – occupational therapist and part of team Tony Hawks since 2007. Alla is a graduate from the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creanga”. She worked as a pedagogue and now she specializes in occupational and music therapy. Due to her innate artistic talent she can penetrate the soul of every child and has a gift of making any educational activity interesting.
Mariana Lupu – speech therapist and joined the Tony Hawks team in 2015. She is a graduate from the State Pedagogical University “Ion Creanga”. Currently she is a student in Cycle ll Master, specializing in speech. Being a mother of a child with disabilities, Mariana was motivated to study speech therapy and hopes that will help her son or other children with special needs. Her life’s motto became: “To be in your children’s memories tomorrow you must be present in their lives today.” (Barbara Johnson)
Efimia Rusu, social worker – member of the Tony Hawks team since 2012. She is a graduate of the State University, with a masters degree in Sociology and Social Work. She has worked as a social assistant in state institutions and non-governmental organizations providing consulting services to different social strata. Efimia is interested in professional growth in the area of protection of children’s rights. In her spare time she enjoys reading and listening to music.
Irina Cretu – physiotherapist and part of the Tony Hawks team since 2014. She graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sport of the Republic of Moldova, specializing in kinesiology in 2014. Irina has the ability to find a common language with children and their parents producing positive results. In the future she wants to contribute to improving the quality of life for children with special needs. In her spare time she enjoys long walks.
Maria Duca – physiotherapist and member of team Tony Hawks since 2014. She graduated in 2013 from the University of Physical Education and Sport of the Republic of Moldova with a masters in kinesiology. She then received her masters degree in 2015 from the University of Galati, Romania. In the future she wants to rise up the professional ladder.
Cristina Caraman – physical therapist, and joined the Tony Hawks Center in 2015. She graduated from the University of Physical Education and Sport of the Republic of Moldova, in 2012, specializing in kinesiology and completed her masters in 2014. As a specialist Cristina tries to help as many children as possible to become independent, through applied functional working methods. Her passion is reading.
Ecaterina Siniucova – physiotherapist, joined the Tony Hawks team in 2015. Ecaterina is a graduate from the University “Lucian Blaga” in Romania, where she specialized in physical education and sports, 2013. In 2015 she obtained her master’s degree in kinesiology at the University of West Timisoara. With the techniques and methods she learned in Romania, Ecaterina wants to help Moldovan children with special needs to enjoy the beautiful moments of childhood.
Alexandrina Spînu – physiotherapist. She is part of Tony Hawks team from 2016. She is responsible and compassionate and she has a professional approach adapted to each patient. Alexandrina creates strong relationship based on friendship with both children, and parents. She includes them in therapeutic activity through play, based on authenticity and jovial spirit. Hydrotherapy sessions with her often reveals quickly capabilities that surprise children and their parents. Alexandrina is passionate about travel, cycling and she promotes a healthy lifestyle.
Maria Gurcova – physiotherapist, joined the Tony Hawks team in 2014. Maria is a graduate of the State University of Physical Education and Sport of Moldova, with a masters degree. Currently, Maria is a freshman, specializing in Special Education and Integrated Therapies in „UPS Ion Creangă”. She participated in relevant international trainings in USA and Saint Petersburg in physical therapy.
