Tony Hawks Center successfully completes an important stage in its activities – the official launch of the Occupational Therapy Service for children and young people with special needs. This long-awaited event will be marked by a series of events, with the center’s founder, Tony Hawks, in attendance.
On September 29, from 9:00 to 12:00, at the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the Europa Hall will host an international conference titled:
‘Application of Occupational Therapy in the Republic of Moldova for the rehabilitation of people with disabilities and the importance of creating a Faculty of Occupational Therapy in higher education.’
The event is organized with the support of the Parliamentary Committee for Social Protection, Health, and Family of the Republic of Moldova and Tony Hawks Center, as part of the project ‘Expanding the Rehabilitation Team for Children and Young People with Special Needs by Creating Occupational Therapy Service,’ implemented by Tony Hawks Center with resources from the European Union within the project ‘Civil Society Organizations Act for Better Social Services,’ co-funded and implemented by the Soros Moldova Foundation in partnership with Keystone Moldova and Institutum Virtutes Civilis.
The official opening of the Multifunctional Hall will take place on the same day, September 29, from 14:00 to 15:30 at the center’s headquarters at Drumul Taberei 10.
The construction of this hall was made possible with the generous support of Tony Hawks and his friends from the UK and the Republic of Moldova. The equipment and assistive technologies were supported by the US Embassy, as well as by the EU through the project implemented and co-funded by the Soros Moldova Foundation in partnership with Keystone Moldova and Institutum Virtutes Civilis, as mentioned above.
On this occasion, the new hall at Tony Hawks Center (Drumul Taberei 10) will host a charity event on September 30, from 18:00 to 20:00, in the form of a Musical Quiz – an entertaining and musical evening, featuring Tony Hawks. We invite the English-speaking audience to purchase tickets and bring these young people closer to a brighter and more opportunistic future.
